The Metal Gear series has a reputation for being inaccessible to newcomers. The twisting, bizarre tale has wound its way through almost 2 and half decades since its inception in 1987, 13 years for the Solid series.

This is one series I’ve always wanted to share with people who it just happens didn’t follow the story or pick up MGS1 in 98, but were attracted by the game play in later entries.

According to CVG, UK’s Official PlayStation Magazine gives word of a rumor that MGS1-3 will be getting the HD treatment, which seems to be turning into a bit of a trend in PS3 land these days.

Bring it on.
If true, I will definitely be getting this. I’ve already been kind of wishing that this would happen ever since the God of War collection and the rumors of a HD Shadow of the Colossus appeared.

More importantly, MGS will get more of the attention it deserves with this package, attracting a whole new audience.
