What is League of Legends Dominion?

In this mode it looks like you have to capture and hold control points around the map

Some champions seem to unbalanced like rammus who can get from one side of the map to another within seconds. LoL is balanced for the normal map, but with a completely different map and objectives you can expect stuff to be OP and UP.

Dominion can be extremely fun though. A typical dominion game lasts from 15-20 minutes. I’ve only played about 10 dominion games so far and i’ve already had VERY VERY close games where we win by 5-15 points. (Each team starts with 500)

Killing minions doesnt seem to be as important at all in dominion, which I dislike a little bit. In a normal LoL game, last hitting minions is a very critical key to winning games which took a bit of skill. In dominion, you get 3 gold/second and gold for capturing/defending/killing champions. Basically the only objective in dominion is to defend 3 of the 5 control points which takes coordination rather than individual skill. However, it is rare to see someone actually defend because some people find that boring.

Overall I like dominion but it needs to be balanced or people need to adjust to certain champions. The majority of new players will probably like dominion alot more than the normal games.
