So what is the FFXIV fatigue system? simply put the fatigue system is a limit on how fast you can level up. So why is there a limit?
Here’s why: When designing a game, a game developer decides how fast a player will progress from level to level. A common way to do this is to add a leveling curve. Making it easy for players to level up at first and much harder the higher they get. So a leveling curve is nothing more than a time sink. But here’s the problem: If a developer sets the curve too low, the players who can play 12 hours a day will reach the maximum level within weeks.
If they set the curve too high, the players who can only manage 1 to 2 hours a day will take years to reach the max. This is a major way MMOs retain their subscriptions! Square-Enix puts a spin on the system. Instead of making someone play tons and tons of hours to reach the maximum level, they made it easier for everyone to level up overall, but still control the rate at which players can progress through the game.
Here’s how the limit works… the fatigue limit is divided into thresholds. a single threshold is equal to the amount of experience points a regular player will gain in an hour, while continuously fighting battles. You will get experience points at a normal rate, until you break the 8th threshold. After that the experience points you gain will gradually decrease, until you reach the 15th threshold where you can no longer gain experience points.
Was the FFXIV fatigue system a good idea?, like many ideas in FF XIV, no it was not, but expect it to be improved via patching

@immerwahrend i mean how would you feel if hypothetically guitar hero made you pay a subscription monthly just to play while limiting the amount of songs you could play? or limiting the amount of content that could be unlocked? being able to only play a set of 20 songs out of 100 and every day 10 new songs will unlock. Now your probably gonna say this has no relevant of what we’re talking about but it does. like i said if you pay your should get more of what you pay thats it

@immerwahrend im guessing your also going to argue on the possibility that this system could of been created in the purpose of just making the subscriber to keep on playing and paying in a game in which they think is fun with limitations right? so your not gonna think that it could be just because the creators want to keep the players to keep on paying on what may seem as a forever time consuming game just to get to a level or point on where you want to be?

@immerwahrend uh i havent played wow in a long time ive only played the very first game that came out and i know you can pretty do whatever you want and by that i mean being able to level a profession or whatever with maybe 2-3 secondary profession simultaneously and feel free to level up as much as you want. The basis in which im just trying to get you to understand is that what i think is that if your payin for something you should get most of what you paid for thats all

@ShinRyuAmiYuniTsuki Also since I ran out of letters in the last comment, if you’re solely leveling one job in FFXIV not only are you limiting yourself for higher levels, but you’re also going to be paying 100,000 gil or more per repair at higher levels of items. Since you’re doing nothing but farming levels for your one job, this will happen more often than you think. Being able to repair your own armor by raising one of the profession jobs doesn’t feel like a chore when you save money from it.

@ShinRyuAmiYuniTsuki In one of your messages you state: “there are a lost in suscribers in this mmo surely you can tell me the reason if it cant be because of the XP limitation”, this is not solely caused by XP limiting, some players dislike some of the other game mechanics. You also say: “sorry your level ain’t high enough” as something you don’t want to be told, but WoW does that with the only 2 important things in the game, those being raiding and PVP, if you’re not max level you cant do it.

Sorry, but the system sucks. Thanks for playing.

@XPrespawn
what are you a bot? Reading past posts someone always says that. This puts the nail in the coffin and puts an end to all arguments about Final Fantasy XIV. Check. Your. Email.
tanaka’s resignation says it all ladies and gentlemen.
The only thing that’s going wider is the fanboys that continue to support squareenix’s bullshit and those with common sense who left. The numbers of subs are so bad square no longer releases them. google it.

I got 2 weeks off in work coz i was sick and had to stay home. I was playing FFXIV for literally 16-18h per day, and i never saw my exp lowered. With class mix system presented in game you have to be dumpshit to lvl only one class at a time. Take your lancer to lv10, then your PUG to get him Second Wind and so on. Plus u have crafting classes.
People should understand that there is more into game than just grinding till ur max lvl. See the world SE want to show you.

@MrVilfat Yeah I think you’re right, but lvl 50 in 2 weeks…. I guess you have to play 24/7 and have 0 to little friends. I’m not telling people how to live their lifes but there’s more than MMORPG’s in life.

@ShinRyuAmiYuniTsuki It’s a different kind of freedom.

@nagzul now if you think what i am saying is completely wrong, then feel free to explain to me why there are a lost in suscribers in this mmo surely you can tell me the reason if it cant be because of the XP limitation
loading...
loading...
@nagzul according to kotaku and the creator or who runs the server game whatever already stated a loss in quite a bit of suscribers, doesnt seem like those people have the same views as you. I get your point that your saying yet all i can say is the freedom taken away from you from doing what you want when you want. I aint saying your wrong and you may not agree but like i said when your paying a month suscription you want to be able to get what you paid for.
loading...
loading...
@ShinRyuAmiYuniTsuki That’s because this game wasn’t made for that. It shouldn’t a be chore to get your money’s worth. It’s about everything else too. People miss the aspect of the game with that mentality. There’s more to it than leveling up. The way I see it, is the people who do stay, will be genuin fun loving people.
loading...
loading...
@nagzul i only played final fantasy 11 for like maybe a month and dropped out because it just wasnt me but im talking about the other FF mmo players in general, you know when people pay they want to get as much as they want for the monthly suscription, and for someone to tell you “Oh sorry you cant do that until the next 4 hours, or sorry your level ain’t high enough,” its like why even play. already read online about people droppin out of this game
loading...
loading...
@nagzul lets be realistic for a minute. when your playing any game at all usually mmo type games like world of warcraft, final fantasy 11, 14 anything such as that, would you really like it if you were paying a monthly fee but had limitations on things you could do? Now in this case its a leveling issue some may argue its a good idea for one person not to surpass others in level but just think about it, when your paying a month suscription you want to get the most of what you want

@ShinRyuAmiYuniTsuki freedom from not feeling like youre falling behind if you want to go do other things in game, or out of game.

@Lugosi49
LOL! You are cracking me up! I think I nailed your life right on the dot! All you can do is to continue to ‘act’ hard. You have nothing else to say cause you know it’s true, and you want to call my life sad? ROFL Get out of your moms house, get some sun, get laid (if possible.. Highly doubt it) and experience the world outside of the internet. Unless you’re too scared cause you can’t act like a hardass in the real world or you will get jumped, or possibly killed.
