Call of Duty Black Ops is the seventh addition to the main Call of Duty series. It was released on November 9, 2010 for the Xbox 360, PC, PS3, Wii, and DS. The Wii and DS versions are completely different from the other three and you should not use this guide for the those versions.
Developed by Treyarch and Published by Activision, Call of Duty Black Ops is a first person shooter set around the 1970s. Black Ops runs an enhanced version of the Call of Duty World at War engine, which was a modified Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine. The game features single player, split screen multiplayer, online multiplayer, and co-op game modes. Black Ops has been rated ACB: MA15+, BBFC: 18, ESRB: M, and PEGI: 18+
Call of Duty Black Ops released three versions of the game: Regular/Standard, Hardened, and Prestige Editions. The hardened edition comes with a steel book case, a medal in a display case, the four nazi zombie maps from World at War (750MB) , and an Xbox Live/Playstation Home Avatar Outfit. The Prestige edition is basically the hardened edition along with a remote controlled RC Car like the killstreak in the multiplayer (RC-XD).

Treyarch made it a lot easier to report players for cheating, boosting, using offensive language, or offensive emblems. Simply click on their name in between matches to view their COD Playercard, go down to report, and click one of the four options. If they left during the game, you can view your recent players to find their COD Playercard from that menu. If you’re in the middle of a game, press Y/Triangle on the player’s name to view their COD Playercard, Report a Player, or view their gamertag/ID.
The campaign is the single player story mode of Black Ops. The campaign contains 14 missions and a few pieces of intel that give more back story to the game. I will tell you how to get each piece of intel while going through the campaign missions. Pieces of intel are small. They look like old tape players and glow red sometimes.
The campaign has four difficulties – Recruit, Regular, Hardened, and Veteran. Some achievements/trophies can only be earned on Veteran difficulty.
You start off in a bar. Headshot one of the police men with your handgun. The bartender will throw you an M16 with scope and grenade launcher to go with your ASP. Your objective is to escape the police. Follow Woods and stay low or behind cover. If you’re playing higher difficulties you will be killed quickly so stay behind your men, but not too far. Fight through the streets and take cover in any alcove or alley way if you need to. At the end of the street is an alley to the left. Run in the alley and escape in the car.
After a small cut scene you will be in a different location with the same weapons. Zip line down by standing behind your team mate on the right. At the bottom your team will take down two men. Enter the building to the left to kill the next man. Use a melee attack behind him to perform a special melee. You can pick up his FN FAL if you like. Move on with your team and listen to everything they say. Your objective is to kill Castro, so do it stealthy. Let some trucks pass by across the road. Move up when your men move up. Up the road you will find more enemies. When your team fires you will be clear to fire. One will drop a shotgun (KS-23) which you can pick up. Enter the next building to find a Skorpion, RPK, and RPG. On top of the RPG is intel.
Move on to the house at the other end of the yard. You will encounter another man or two which you or your team will take down. Inside the house are many more enemies. The right hall is guarded by many men, one is looking straight down and can take you out before you can kill him. The best thing to do is take the left path to flank him. At the end is another hall with more people, so stay out of cover. Use your grenades, 40 MM Grenade launcher, and your guns to clear it out. When the halls are clear you will search the rooms. When you enter the rooms you will go into slow motion. Kill everyone you see. The second room holds Castro. You will switch to a pistol automatically and go into slow motion. Take Castro out with a headshot to earn an achievement/trophy.
Escape the house with your team. Follow them wherever they go, but stay behind cover if you’re playing higher difficulties. You will run into the same weapons but with different attachments. Make it to the fire hall way as shown in the picture:
Enter the door on the right and go into the second room to find more intel on the dresser.
Escape out to the front of the house to find tons of enemies. I threw a frag grenade here and earned the frag master achievement/trophy for killing 5 men with one frag. Take out the machine gun and BTR with any RPGs you find. More friendlies will come to help you out.
Once the area is clear you can run to the left into a sugar field. Rappel down into the airfield. Enter the first airplane hanger and you’ll see a green staircase to your left. Climb up the staircase to find another intel.
Run across the airfield to the escape plane. Inside the plane you’ll grab a M60 with infinite ammo. Shoot everything around you so your plane can escape. Towards the end your man will jump out and grab a ZPU. Blow the vehicles up at the end of the run way to finish the mission.
The mission starts off with a small scene. You and Reznov will fight. When Reznov gets beaten you will grab a rock and stand up. Move towards the guard and hit him over the head with the rock. You will now have a knife, your goal is to escape. One guard will come at you and hit you with a stick which kills you in one blow on veteran. Run through the tunnels until you reach the elevator. At the top you must grab the Makarov pistol from the dead guard. Follow Reznov and Sergei outside and behind a coal cart. Use your Makarov to shoot any guards that come up the sides.
Enter the next building and follow Reznov. Both of you will climb up the stairs to the tower. Reznov will stop by some equipment. Look to the right of him to find intel.
Climb up the stairs to reach the roof. At the top is a slingshot with three targets. Destroy all three with three attempts to earn another achievement/trophy. To destroy the targets with one hit, place the bottom of the V like crosshair on the targets. The slingshot should hit each of the targets. Head back down stairs to grab a shotgun. Use the shotgun to blow open the gate outside. Kill the guards around you, but don’t shoot your fellow prisoners at the other end of the yard. The guards will drop AK-47s which will be of better use than the shotgun.
Head North fighting all the guards. Some trucks will drop off more guards to fight you. Look on top of the gates for guards too. You need to reach the other end of the field and take out the helicopter. The Helicopter is deadly, it will kill you in half the time it takes regular men to kill you. I found that the best way to get to the other end of the yard is to go up the left side. Destroy the truck with all the men, keep heading left, kill the two men at the end, and run towards the objective marker. Make sure the helicopter isn’t right above you when you do any running or you will die. Run inside the door at the end of the yard to find Reznov. Head up the small set of stairs to watch two of your men die. Grab the harpoon from one of your fallen men and shoot the helicopter.
Your next objective is to get to the armory. There is a hole on the outside wall that leads to the armor. Right at the entrance is an AK-47 with grenade launcher. Pick that up and fight your way up the stairs. At the top of the stairs are more men with lots of cover. You can use your grenade launcher here. When the hall is clear or you get close enough to the end, you will see red lights flashing. The door will start to close to the right. Sergei will hold the door as long as possible, but it will continue to shut. Run underneath the door and open it with the controls in the next room, a marker will mark it’s location. Lookout for any men on the cat walks above. The room with the controls is bullet proof so you’ll be safe inside. From the small control room, go to the left into a dark room. Inside the room is more intel.
Walk up the stairs to regroup with Reznov. Fight your way to the blowtorch. Reznov will put the blowtorch on while more guards break through the door. Your objective is to protect Reznov. Kill any men that break through the door. Some men have heavy armor on, aim for the head. When it’s time to move on you will find more guards coming from the opposite direction. Follow Reznov and continue to protect him. He will use the blowtorch to cut through a door. Inside is a minigun named “the Death Machine.” Grab the mini gun and fire at any enemy in your way. The mini gun will overheat and you cannot aim with it. You can kill fast, but you are not invincible. If you’re playing at high difficulties you will still need cover. Head North into the hole in the wall, exit out of the building. Shoot on the ground and on top of the buildings. Walk forward to each marker. At the end of the road a cut scene will play.
After the short scene you will be with Reznov in a small room. Look behind Reznov at a bunch of garbage in the garage.
Another intel is on the bottom shelf. Ride a motorcylce to escape. Use the left trigger/L1 to fire a Model 1887 shotgun while driving. Try and shoot every enemy on a vehicle to earn another achievement/trophy. Follow the objective markers to end the mission.
The mission starts after a long cut scene. Your weapons are a MP5K with red dot, Python handgun with a speed reloader, 4 frags, and 4 smoke grenades. Do not fire a shot or you will blow your cover. Follow Woods and keep stealth. Do all instructions that are given to you. Your MP5K will be replaced with an AK-47 with ACOG scope.
Eventually you’ll reach a building with your three team mates. Head to the left side of the door behind a column. Your team will break through, your objective is to kill the four men on the outside first. When they’re dead you can head inside, but be careful more enemies are inside. Along with enemies are guns. You’ll find only the AK-47, but there are different attachments with them. Climb the stairs killing everyone you see. If they are looking down the stairs, you should throw a frag up them. At the top you will find a marker on a ladder. In this room is some intel.
Climb up the ladder and you’ll find a few more men. Take them out with a silent melee or by shooting them. When the tower is clear your next objective will be to protect Bowman and Brooks.
Woods will give you a crossbow with explosive tip arrows. If you can kill 30 people with this weapon throughout the campaign you will earn another achievement/trophy. Use the explosive bolts to blow up the cars next to the enemies. After the road is clear you will be given a zip line bolt on your crossbow. Aim it at the marker above the window and fire. You will zipline in with your MP5K to rescue your team mate. A small cutscene will play.
After the cutscene you and your team will start running. A timer will count down. Follow your team to abort the launch at the auxiliary control bunker. The cross bow will now have regular bolts instead of explosive ones, but you can switch to them like switching to the grenade launcher. Run to the end and up the ladder. Throw a smoke at the base of the ladder so you won’t be killed when you climb up. At the top you’ll find one of your men and an enemy. The enemy will have a dragunov which you can exchange for your cross bow if you like. Kill the men at the other side and run towards that area. Keep moving South to the marker in the distance. The path will curve around until you reach the bunker. Plant C4 on the wall to try and stop the rocket. Inside the room is another intel.
After a little dialogue you’ll grab some Valkyrie rockets. Fire and guide them through the air to destroy the rocket. Next you must follow your team to an underground bunker.
Your objective is to find and kill Dragovich. There are two more weapons at the bottom, a shotgun and a PM63 SMG. Fight your way through the tunnels. If you get pinned down use your smoke grenades. The path is extremely linear. If you do find any side rooms along the path make sure to take them. There will probably be more enemies inside the rooms, but you will most likely have more cover and flank more enemies. One room to the side is to the right. There will be a picture of some guy, most people won’t know who he is. That man is Vladmir Lenin. Anyways, there is another intel in this room on top of one of the consoles.
Keep going on and reach the end of the tunnel to finish the mission.
After a cut scene and a real time scene you will start the mission. The game will play “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Move up to find some M16s and a M1911 on the ground. Your guns will be the M16 with masterkey and a M60. Follow your team and you’ll find more weapons like the stakeout shotgun and the AK-47. Tons of enemies will flood into your trench. Luckily they’re all wearing a similar outfit to eachother which is very different from your team’s. Kill everyone in white and get any cover you can find.
Follow your team until you reach the fort like area where the rest of the soldiers are. Use the clackers on the sides of the trenches to set off bombs under the enemies. Keep moving until you reach the top. Three tanks will come in. Grab the LAW rocket launcher to take out all three. There are a few other weapons among the soldiers. You can find the first intel next. Reach the top of the hill in the back to find an ammo cache.
The intel is right in the middle. Now follow Woods to continue the mission.
The next part is extremely hard at high difficulties. You need to make your way down the hill without dying. Sounds easy, but you can die in a split second. Kill any enemies that may be firing at you before you head down. Make various stops down the hill for cover. It’s useless to stay in one spot the whole time because infinite enemies will spawn at the bottom. When you get close to the bottom your team mate will say “We need to improvise.” He will kick down a barrel to kill some enemies. Do the same to other barrels around you. I found it easiest to go down the left side. Inside a bunker on the left path, right before the bottom marker is another intel.
Reach the bottom and continue on.
Follow your team up the next hill. Use the foxholes for cover. Each fox hole has different weapons inside them. At the top you will have to save Woods with a Python handgun in a slowed down scene. After the scene you must follow your team through the bunkers to continue. Before exiting you should see a flag on a wall. Look on the shelf to the right in the room before the flag to find another intel.
Exit the bunker to find a vehicle. On the vehicle is a TOW missile. Fire with RT/R1 and guide it with the right stick. Use no more than 6 missiles to destroy the tanks and you will earn another achievement/trophy. Your other weapons will be a M60 and China Lake. Destroy all the tanks to end the mission.
The mission starts after a cutscene. You will have a SPAS-12 with Dragonbreath round and a Commando with a Grenade Launcher. Kill 10 NVA with the SPAS-12 for another achievement/trophy. Follow your team and the marker clearing out the rooms of NVA. You will meet up with Reznov after you breach a room. After a little dialogue he will open the door to a hallway that leads outside. There will be a small room to the right with intel inside.
Make your way to the LZ. Take a radio from one of your team mates to call in air support. Kill 20 NVA with the air support for another achievement/trophy. Provide support for your men and your tank with the air support. Keep moving with your team and do what they say. The tank will eventually be blown up by another tank. When this happens, head all the way to the back dead end like the picture. The building to the left holds another intel inside on a desk.
Mark the tank and any other locations with your air support. Keep moving up, but look around you for any NVA. The enemies will be on roof tops, streets, and in doors. After moving up your objective will be to destroy a ZSU. Follow the markers and kill any NVA you see. This part is pretty straight forward.
At the end you will make a last stand while waiting for your ride to come in. Grab some claymores and set them up where the smoke pops. Look for the building with “DAK” on the rooftop. You can get a better shot of it in the picture below:
Enter the building from the left side to find intel on a table on the left. Go back to the middle area to defend your team from the NVA. When the NVA retreat a tank will come in. Mark the tank with air support and run to the boat.
The mission starts with an interactive real time scene. Press the buttons that come on the screen to progress the dialogue. After the scene you are given two CZ75 pistols, 4 frag grenades, and 4 flashbangs. If you can escape with only using dual wield weapons you will earn another achievement/trophy. Use cover, your flashbangs, and grenades to help you out. Look directly to your right to find a little work space. Inside the area is some intel.
Shoot towards the enemies to trigger a small scene. The room will fill with Nova Gas, you must escape up the ladder. Run through the halls full of enemies to the roof. On the roof you will find Snipers. They don’t have high rate of fire weapons like the others with automatics, you can rush these guys straight on. Run and jump off the roof top near the marker to reach the other building. Your team mate will show you more weapons in this room. Take only the dual wield weapons if you want to earn the achievement/trophy.
Clear out the halls of enemies. If you’re using the machine pistols, fire in bursts and use one at a time. When it’s time to head back outside you should run directly to the left. Two men will come out from the alley straight ahead so be prepared to fire. More men are around the corner, throw a grenade or flashbang to get the upper hand. Your team should come up to help you. Hopefully they will take out the snipers on the roof tops if you’re attempting the dual wield challenge. Go around the corner and watch out for anyone. Make your way down stairs. You will come to a bottle neck like area. Two or three men are on the other side, flashbang and kill them if you can. Two more men are at the far end sniping. It’s possible to run straight ahead to slide down the pipe without getting killed, but if you do get killed you will be sent back to where you first exit the building.
Continue on with the mission. Follow your team and listen to the dialogue. When you slide down a roof you will go into slow motion. Make sure you reload before you slide down because enemies will be at the bottom. Go straight forward and look left to find Inside the area is an intel.
The next part is pretty straight forward. Keep moving towards the objective markers and kill anything in front of you and only in front of you. You will come to an area where you must defend yourself. There will be various weapons on the wall. Defend your team until they open the door. When the door is open throw a flash bang and run out. You must sprint and jump across the gap to the other side. After a small scene you must keep moving! Move left and follow the markers. You must make more jumps, kill anyone on the platforms you jump to before you jump or you could kill yourself from the fall. When you are close to the bottom you will see this area:
Jump down once more before you reach the wooden plank. Turn around and you will find intel amongst some garbage. Now jump down one last time and slide down the plank. Reach the bottom and the achievement/trophy should unlock for escaping using only dual wield weapons.
A CZ-75 will drop from the sky with you. Grab it and kill anyone in front of you, it will be your only weapon. Survive long enough for a van to come save you, it’s tough on veteran. Try to stick to the left side so you won’t be hit by too many people. Kill any remaining enemies and run to the van to complete the mission.
You start the mission as Reznov at the end of WWII. You have a PPSH, a Mosin Nagant, and 4 grenades. Follow your team and the objective markers throughout the mission. You can pick up MP40s and STG44s off dead Germans. Use the Mosin Nagant for long range kills and the PPSH for CQC.
When you reach the two story building full of Germans in them, it’s best to snipe the enemies from far away. Try and find a scoped Mosin Nagant from a dead Russian. Once the bottom room is clear you can rush in with your PPSH. There will be more men upstairs, along with an intel in the second area to your right.
Exit the building from the entrance to continue on. You can use your newly acquired smoke grenades to mark areas for mortar strikes. Snipe the machine gunner and panzerschreck man off the bridge. Make your way through the buildings on the right to get closer to the bridge. Get close enough to throw a smoke grenade right under the bridge. Enter the building in the back of the bridge to hear some dialogue. It’s guarded by a few Germans. In the back is an intel.
The next area is pretty much the same as before. A song will play which is the same song during the intro to Call of Duty World at War, made by the same developers that made Black Ops. If you’ve never played WAW then you won’t know that Reznov and Petrenko were characters from that game. In fact you played as Petrenko.
Take out Germans and get close to a bridge with a machine gunner on top. Mark it with your smoke for a mortar strike, but his time the bridge won’t blow up. Your objective is the building the bridge is attached to. Walk under the bridge to find a door on the left to the inside. Climb the stairs to the top floor and fight your way to the next objective and cutscene.
Walk towards Steiner and Dragovich to hear more dialogue. Follow him into the caves. You will now have a Tokarev pistol and flashlight. After a scene you will have to fight your way out. Pick up any automatic weapons you can. Arm the explosives and escape off the ship. If you’re playing on veteran, try to escape with 2:15 left on the timer to earn another achievement/trophy. Fight your way out of the first room and into the area with the long range rockets. Clear the room and shoot the glowing support beams to the left of the explosives you must plant. Run and shoot anyone in front of you, but don’t stop. Look for the objective markers to find your way out. It’s pretty much straight forward. At the end you jump off the right side on a rope. Before you jump off you must climb up some stairs. To the right of the stairs is another intel on the floor.
The mission starts on a crashed plane. You will automatically grab the M1911. Shoot the two men outside of your window and your plane will go into the river. Open the door by tapping the button shown on the screen repeatedly. Swim to the boat ahead of you and you will grab a Vietnamese guy with an AK47. Shoot all the others in front of you while holding the man hostage. Once everyone is dead you will drop his body into the river and take his AK. Jump into the river to regroup with your team ahead of you. Move forward and kill everyone with Woods. They will drop AK47s, Skorpions, and RPKs.
This next part requires stealth. Swim up to the boat without being detected. Stay under water and press the melee button when you get close enough. If you kill that man and two others silently, you will unlock another achievement/trophy. Move on to hear some dialogue. Plant the C4 under water when it tells you to. Walk into the VC base and you’ll find some sleeping VC. Kill the man sleeping to your right. Exit out of the room to find the entrance of the hut and another VC eating. Turn to your left to find intel in the corner
Turn back around and stealth kill the last VC to unlock an achievement/trophy. Follow the objective markers into and out of the river. Blow up the C4 and semtex when told to.
You should now be in a village with a Commando w/grenade launcher, WA2000, and 4 frag grenades. Clear the village and find the ZPU. Look on rooftops and doorways to clear the village. When the game tells you to clear the spider hole you can launch a 40MM grenade into it. Stay behind cover because there are tons of people around. Once your team moves up and the village is clear you can move up too, but stay behind any cover you can. First you should go forward to the hut behind the spider hole. Inside the hut isintel on the floor to the left.
Bowman will call up for the M202 (the grim reaper). The person holding the 202 will be killed. You need to grab it and destroy the ZPU across the river. There will be men across the river and to your left on your side of the river shooting at you and your team. Take as many out as you can so you can grab the rocket launcher. Destroy the ZPU with the grim reaper and move on.
Follow the objective markers while taking out all the VC in the village. A machine gun will pop up not far from the ZPU. Destroy it with the grim reaper to earn an achievement/trophy. Clear out the village and jump down the rat hole at the end. Inside you will have a python revolver with a flashlight. There will be more VC in the tunnel so keep on guard. Clear out a room of VC with Reznov. After the room you will find a tunnel that splits up left and right. Take the left path to find an intel.
Continue through the tunnel and escape to end the mission.
You start the mission with a KS-23, Commando with ACOG, 4 grenades, and 4 flashbangs. Head to the boat. Look to your left before you reach the dock with the boat. You will find an intel on some boxes.
Now get on the boat. You will drive it and have access to the machine gun and missiles it is equipped with. Destroy all targets and structures up the river to earn another achievement/trophy. While going down the river the song “Sympathy for the Devil” by The Rolling Stones plays. Destroy everything that’s marked.
Eventually you’ll run into a PT boat. This thing shoots missiles at you and is heavily armored. Shoot it at the back and use the houses in the middle of the river for cover. If you destroyed everything up the river the achievement/trophy will pop up after you destroyed the boat.
You will encounter lots of VC in this area. This part is pretty linear. Move forward, take cover, and kill anyone you see. There will be some snipers in the trees and eventually Spetsnaz. You can find AK74us, PM63s, Dragunovs, and AK47s.
At the end of all the fighting you’ll find a crashed plane. You must walk up the wing to get inside, but do it slowly. There will be an explosion that pushes you right. When you hear the explosion hold left on the left stick to keep from falling off. Jump off the top of the plane into some rocks. You will find intel near a rock before you enter the plane.
Continue inside for some dialogue. Use the china lake to defend your location to end the mission.
You start the mission with an interactive scene. Press the appropriate buttons to go through the scene. When you’re in the air you will guide a team on the ground using your radio and a screen. You can zoom in, out, move the camera around, and select a location with A(360)/X(PS3) for them to move to. Guide them up the road and into a safe house North/East. Control will switch to the men in the house. You will have an AUG w/silencer and ACOG, M1911 with silencer, 4 flashbangs, and 4 grenades. Kill the enemies coming into the house. Once the house is clear, control will switch back to the man in the sky.
Guide your men out of the back of the house – North. Order them to kill the men to the East, then move to the objective markers. More men will walk pass them, order them to stop by pressing B(360)/Circle (PS3). When the enemies pass your men by you can order them to move onto the barracks. Control will switch back to the men to clear out the rooms. When the rooms are clear you can find the next intel. Turn around and look on a desk to find it.
Enter the next room and plant semtex on the com link. Control will switch back to the man in the sky. Move the men North. You will earn an achievement/trophy here if all of your men survived.
A cutscene will play. Control will be back on the ground. You now have a crossbow with variable zoom and the same AUG. Wait for the enemy to pass before you move. Follow your team a few steps ahead and drop when they tell you to drop. Move on and hook up to rappel into the stations. Click one trigger to rappel and the other trigger to break. You will need to break a few times or you will fall to your death. Rappel into the stations and clear the rooms.
Follow your team down the mountain to find a large group of enemies. Use stealth here to earn an achievement/trophy. If you take out everyone without being detected you will earn the achievement/trophy. Use your crossbow to take out a few enemies long range like a sniper rifle. Do not use your explosive tip ammo unless the enemies know you’re around. If there are multiple enemies near each other your team mates will help you take the other down.
Enter the comstat room and eliminate everyone inside. No need to be stealthy here. You can use your explosive tip ammo. Remember, you will unlock an achievement/trophy for killing 30 men with explosive tip ammo throughout the campaign. Before you head down stairs, enter the room that 3 men just came out of. Inside is some intel.
Clear out the room and disable the comstat.
Move outside for a small scene. Stick with your team or you will “die.” The game will tell you to stick with your team and restart you from a checkpoint. Keep running from the avalanche and jump off the cliff at the end. Deploy your parachute to land on the ground outside a factory. Your objective is to infiltrate the Nova 6 facility. No need to use stealth here.
Kill all men and move into the building. Watch out for the machine gun at the end of the road. Stick to the side of the right wall to get into the building. Fight through the rooms to enter a room rigged with explosives. You will hear a little dialogue when you enter the middle room. A 3 minute timer will appear on the screen after the dialogue, escape the building before it blows. The final intel in this mission is in the explosive room on one of the tables. Use the picture for help:
Men will be outside along with a machine gun. Kill everyone and escape yamantau facility. Run to the machine gun and kill everyone around to finish the mission.
After a short scene you will grab an AK47, CZ75 and 4 frag grenades. Your objective is to get the soviet. Push through the caves killing VC. There will be a fork in the road when you go through the caves. If you take the right path you go straight to the Soviet with Woods. If you take the left path you will wind up at the end with Woods, but you will find two small caves with tons of weapons in them. Go through the caves until you reach a room with a waterfall. To the right of the waterfall and the cave that leads to the soviet is intel.
Clear the room and keep moving to the markers to find the soviet. Kill him and exit the caves. On the outside you’ll find a Hind guarded by tons of men. There will be an Uzi and Olympia to your left. Get closer to the Hind for a better view. Woods will tell you to fire when ready. Clear the camp and grab the intel to the right of the Hind on a table.
Get in the Hind and fly it down the river. You will have full control of the hind with it’s UV-32 missiles and 12mm cannon. If you want another achievement/trophy, use only the missiles (LT/L1) and not the cannon (RT/R1). Destroy the camps and other Hind down the river. You can hold the missile button and release to fire multiple missiles. You must empty your hind of all missiles for it to reload.
Down the river is a SAM turret. If one rocket hits you, atleast on veteran, you’re dead. Destroy the turret while dodging the missiles. Continue down river to find a large camp. Anything that’s marked will kill you, destroy everything. After the camp you’ll find two more hinds. Destroy both of them, but aim for one at a time. Use any rocks for cover while flying away from the Hinds. If you hear a buzzing noise that means the hinds are firing rockets at you, try and dodge them. Hinds are weakest on top, try not to go under them.
Destroy the hinds and you will land your plane. There will be different weapons and ammo around. Your objective is to kill Kravchenko. Move through the jungle following woods and killing anyone in your path. Make your way to the cave and clear it of enemies. Woods will tell you to grab the flamethrower, it’s actually an AK47 with a flamethrower attachment. Rescue the POW’s and use the flamethrower on any enemies. Kill 10 enemies with the flamethrower to unlock another achievement/trophy. If you’re playing at high difficulties the flamethrower won’t reach them before they kill you. Move forward into a room full of enemies. The room is dark, but there is a lot of cover. Check the left, right, straight forward, and cat walk for enemies. There is intel to the left next to a few men.
Push forward and up the stairs to the right to complete the mission.
The mission starts with a little dialogue. You have no weapon. Open the door when you are told and kill the first guard. You will automatically pick up the hatchet. Look to the left outside of the cage that brought you to the mission to find intel on the floor in the shadows. You may be caught by the helicopter’s spot light when picking it up.
Stay in the shadows and don’t alert anyone. Follow Reznov and do exactly what he says. When you see another marker over an enemy do not wait for Reznov, kill him immediately and pick up his AK74u. Follow Reznov a bit more until you reach a ladder. Climb the ladder and melee the man up top. A checkpoint will FINALLY appear. The newly acquired weapon is the KS-23.
Follow Reznov into the Soviet lab. Inside you’ll find a few caged monkeys. Kill 7 of them in under 10 seconds for an achievement/trophy. Watch every window and every corner, this place is full of men with guns. Make your way through the two labs to the left to reach a checkpoint and another giant circular lab. Use the consoles in this lab for cover. In the middle is a gas chamber. Inside the gas chamber is intel.
Clear the lab and get to the room upstairs for a cutscene.
When you have control again you will be in a tank like vehicle. You can use a grenade launcher and a machine gun, but you won’t have control over the driving. Fire the machine gun at any moving targets. The machine gun will overheat if you fire too much, fire in bursts if there are lots of enemies. Use the grenade launcher on any vehicles. One grenade will take down any vehicle. There’s not much you can do but have quick reflexes, smooth aim, and good luck. This is what they call a rail shooter. You cannot take any cover and the higher difficulties give you lots of trouble.
After a short while you’ll get off the vehicle. Your weapons are a HK21 w/Drum Mag, Enfield w/Infrared Scope and masterkey shotgun, and 4 grenades. You will have a hazmat suit to protect you from the Nova 6 gas. If the suit get punctured you will die instantly. The suit can take a few shots, but it won’t regenerate like your health unless you die and respawn at a checkpoint. Make it through the gas without dying and you will unlock an achievement/trophy. Enemies will continue to come at you through the thick smoke. Use the IR scope to see through the smoke. Enter the building to your left at the end of the street. Use your IR scope again when you reach the door to exit the building. There will be many people at the end of the street shooting towards you. Move forward with your team and make your way towards the next building. Before you enter the building you can find another intel. Look to the right to find a small house with it’s door open. Inside on the counter is the intel.
Enter the other building and head upstairs with your team. At the top you’ll find a door leading outside to another building. Enemies are at the windows of the other building and outside on the ground. Stay out of sight and pick them off with your enfield. Reach the objective markers but stay on guard. Go through the building across the roof tops or jump down and climb up the stairs to enter the next building. On the other side you’ll find more enemies and two helicopters. Kill the men on the ground and pick up a strela rocket launcher to destroy both helicopters.
Keep moving until you exit the gas. You should be at a parking lot. Look all around for enemies. There are men behind cars, up stairs, in the windows, and on the rooftops. Your objective is to infiltrate the soviet lab and capture Steiner. Clear and enter the lobby. The next marker is to the left down a hall. Stay on guard because there are more soldiers at the end of the hall. Go through decontamination and fight your way down the stairs. The labs should be mostly clear until you reach the last hall and room before Steiner.
There’s not much to do in this mission. Follow the objective markers and acquire intel. Walk down the hall to view some flashbacks and number sequences. When you find three halls in front and to the sides of you, look left. The hall should look like the picture below. On top of the cigarette vending machine is intel.
Enter the next room for the final scene to end the mission.
The mission starts with you in a gunship. You have complete control over the driving and weapons. Clear the deck of the Rusalka for your team to land. Your team will move through the ship while you’re still in the air. Continue to clear the deck for them to move forward.
Eventually an enemy Hind will appear. Destroy the Hind and your gunship will be crippled. Fly over to the landing zone to get on the Rusalka. Your weapons will be a FAMAS w/Reflex Sight and dual mags, MAC11 w/Red Dot, 4 flashbangs, and 4 frag grenades. Move up with your team, but don’t stay out in the open. Not far down the deck you’ll find Valkyrie rockets. Two hinds are above you. Take both of them out with one rocket to earn another achievement/trophy. To do this you must wait for the Hinds to get close to eachother. Fire the rocket and detonate it between both of the hinds in mid air. Right next to the valkyrie rockets is a cargo crate. Look on the floor to the right of the crate to find intel.
With the helicopters down your next step is to go South to the other end of the ship. There will be enemies on the deck and upper bridges of the ship. Follow the in game markers to find your below deck. Go down some stairs to reach close quarter locker rooms. I think the MAC11 is best used here. After the locker room is another room with three men inside, if you need to you can use your flashbangs. Under the desk is intel.
Exit the room to find the room Weaver is in. Your objective is to neutralize all threats. You have the option to go up high or down low. Rendezvous with your team when the room is clear. A cutscene will play.
After the scene you will be underwater. Swim to the Numbers Station. Inside you will find a few more weapons, mostly the Galil. Your team will open the door to another room full of men. They will be on the cat walks, the ground, and coming through the doors. Push up with your team, take cover, and kill everyone. At the end of the room you’ll find a heavily armored soldier. Aim for the head to take him down quickly. The door that leads out of the room and into a staircase has one man up the stairs. Take him out to get a checkpoint and move on. More men are at the top of the stairs. Enter the next room, it will flood immediately. Swim to the cat walk to continue on. Before entering the next door you can follow the cat walk to a dead end. At the dead end is an AK74u with reflex scope and grenade launcher.
Enter the door to find more men in a confined hall way. Follow the hall way to reach a ladder. Up the ladder you’ll find tons of weapons with different attachments. Do not let your guard down, there are still a few men around each corner. Follow the objective markers and fight your way through the rooms. You will find some heavily armored men around here. Walk up a set of stairs to the last objective near a map of the USA. When you see the room in the picture below you can find the very last bit of intel. It is under the left desk on the floor.
Reach the console for an interactive cutscene which ends the game.
Zombies is the horde mode in Call of Duty Black Ops. You and up to three other friends fight hordes of zombies on each map. There is no set wave to finish zombies, you play zombies until everyone dies. Each round more zombies come at you. Every zombie game starts you off with 500 points and the M1911 handgun.
You are awarded points for killing zombies and hell hounds. If you pull off a headshot or stab an enemy you are awarded extra points. Each shot at an enemy gives you +10. As the waves go on, zombies get tougher to kill which means more points. After that you are given 50 points for killing a zombie with an explosive weapon or wonder weapon, 60 points for a kill with a regular gun, 100 points for a headshot with a regular gun, or 130 points for a melee kill.
Use the points to buy doors to progress further through the maps, buy weapons off walls, buy weapons from the mystery box, activate traps, upgrade your weapons through the pack-a-punch machine, and buy perks from the cola machines.
Of course there are Zombies in Zombie mode! Zombies are regular human looking zombies. They will swipe their hands at you and knock you down with 2 hits (8 if you have jugger-nog). Zombie numbers depend on how many doors are opened and how many people are playing. There will be more zombies or any enemies coming at you if you have 4 people playing as opposed to 2. There is a set number of zombies in each round; therefore, people take advantage of it by blowing off the last zombie’s legs to make them crawl towards you.
Sometimes called simply “dogs.” On Shi No Numa, Der Riese, and Kino Der Toten, you will fight “Hell Hounds” in addition to Zombies. Hell Hounds are dog like creatures that run at you and bite you, similar to the dogs in multiplayer. Unlike multiplayer, these dogs are a lot bigger and on fire. They deal less damage than zombies. It takes 3 hits from Hell Hounds to down you or your team mates. Hell Hounds usually come around every 5 rounds or so. They do not walk into a room like zombies, instead they teleport somehow and their presence will be shown by a lightning bolt. Once you defeat them all, you will be awarded a max ammo.
Also known as crawling zombies or mustard gas zombies. These zombies crawl on all fours and seem to move faster than regular zombies. When you shoot them with regular guns, they will burst into a yellow smoke (Like Nova 6 in the campaign) that blurs your vision while in the gas. The initial burst from the explosion can injure you aswell. The gas can also kill other zombies. If you kill them any other way (knife/explosives/wonder weapons) they will now burst into gas. Creepy Crawlers are only found on the new Black Ops Zombie levels Kino Der Toten and Five. They show up after you turn on the power.
The Pentagon Thief
The Pentagon Thief is a new enemy in Zombies. You can only find him in the zombie level “Five” after you turn on the power. He looks like a scientist, like Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the Future. If he touches you he will steal the weapon you have in your hands. There’s an achievement/trophy awarded for killing the Pentagon Thief before he steals your loadout. The Pentagon Thief has a massive amount of health, but it is possible to kill him. Use claymores and light machine gun rounds to the head or upgraded weapons. If you can kill him after he stole weapons, everyone gets their weapons back along with max ammo and fire sale power ups. If you bought a gun after your weapons was taken and everyone’s weapons were returned, you lose the weapon you purchased and regain the weapon you lost. If you can kill him before he steals everyone’s weapons, you will get max ammo and bonfire sale powerups.
Barriers and Doors
You and your team are usually locked in a certain building on each map. You can buy doors for 750-1000 Points to open a new room. There are also barriers that keep the zombies out. The zombies will take down these barriers by ripping each board or concrete piece off, then climbing through. The barriers are usually noticeable buy a hole somewhere and wooden planks covering the hole. Sometimes zombies will break through regular walls which are not as noticeable barriers. You are awarded 10 points for each plank (6 per barrier) you rebuild. However, the points will stop after a few rebuilt barriers.
If you are hit twice by a zombie or hell hound, 8 with jugger-nog, you will be knocked down. Also known plainly as “downed.” When down you will lose any perk you obtained. You will drop down to second chance with a M1911, even if you didn’t have a M1911 anymore. You can be revived by any of your team mates. The team has 30 seconds to reach you before you die. If you die you will be out of the game until the next round. When you come back to life you will only have a M1911 again. If you are revived instead of dying, you will have the weapons you had before you were downed.
Cost 1000 Each Use. Infinite Uses, but needs 90 seconds inbetween each use.
Traps are set throughout the maps. You can find them by the red electrical boxes as shown above. There are three types of traps in all the zombie modes. The majority of traps are electrical barriers. The flogger is another trap on the map “Shi No Numa,” it is a spinning wooden door that will kill any zombie that touches it. Lastly there is a floor on Kino Der Toten that will be set on fire if you activate the trap. If you touch any of the traps you will be instantly downed. Same goes for any of your team mates.
The mystery box – known by some as a random box, random weapon box, ? box, toy box, etc – is a long rectangular wooden box with question marks on it. You can buy a random weapon for 950 Points. Look in the weapon section to see all weapons you can get from the mystery box. On 5 of the 6 maps, the mystery box will randomly move after buying a certain number of weapons. Nacht Der Untoten keeps the mystery box in the same location. Shi No Numa , Verruckt, and Der Riese has a mystery box in one location which randomly moves after awhile. Kino Der Toten and Five randomly move the mystery box from the start. The locations of the mystery box will look like the second picture if the mystery box is not there yet.

There are more to zombies than killing, at least in the later maps. Read this section to know how to survive with special help.
Perk-A-Cola machines are soda dispensers that give you special perks. You have to buy the soda from each machine in order to use them. If you are knocked down by a zombie or hell hound, when you come back to life or are revived you will lose all your perks. Some maps require you to turn on the power in order to use the perk-a-cola machine. The power switch looks like this:

Jugger-nog gives your player extra health. If you do not have jugger-nog you will be knocked down after two hits from a zombie or hell hound. With jugger-nog you take 8 hits to go down.

Double Tap Cola increases the rate of fire for your weapon. If it’s an automatic weapon, the bullets will fire faster. If it’s a bolt action or pump action weapon, you will do the action quicker in between shots. If it’s semi automatic, there will be no effect.

1500 Points to Buy With Team
Quick Revive allows you to revive your team mates in about a third of the time it normally takes you. If you’re playing on solo you can buy quick revive to revive yourself once. The machine will disappear after you buy it three times on solo. When being revived on solo you will dual wield upgraded M1911 (Mustang and Sally).
5000 Points to Upgrade
The Pack-a-Punch Machine is a special machine featured on few maps. Once you have access to it you can upgrade any one of your weapons to a more powerful version. Although the game says you can take your team mate’s upgraded weapons from the machine, it turns out you don’t have that option. Once upgraded you can buy upgraded ammo if the weapon was taken off the walls. For a full list of all upgraded weapons, scroll down to the weapon section and find the upgraded weapons list.
There are certain extra awards you can earn by killing zombies or hell hounds. These are known as power ups. The zombies must be within your room, not outside a barrier, in order to give these power ups. They will glow green and spin around as a gold emblem. Touch the award to activate it for your entire team. These awards are:
A spinning rectangular box with bullets coming out is the max ammo emblem.
Max ammo gives you the maximum ammunition your gun can hold. If you are down you will only receive max ammo on the M1911.
A spinning bomb is the nuke emblem.
The nuke kills all zombies around you. The blast wave may take longer to reach the zombies further away from the bomb. No matter how many zombies there are, you are awarded 400 points.
A blue spinning bunch of bullets is the death machine emblem.
The death machine gives one person the death machine mini gun. The Death Machine has infinite ammo for 30 seconds. You cannot revive anyone while holding the gun. Found only in “Five.”
A spinning price tag that says “SALE” is the Fire Sale emblem.
Fire Sale brings the mystery box to every mystery box location on the map. The mystery box will only cost 10 points instead of 950 for 30 seconds. Found only in “Kino Der Toten” and “Five.”
A spinning Pack-A-Punch machine is the Bonfire Sale emblem.
Bonfire sale can only be obtained if you kill the pentagon thief before he steals your weapons. Obviously you can only find it on the map “Five.” It gives you access to the Pack-A-Punch machine instead of clicking all the DEFCON buttons. Each weapon upgrade will be 1000 points for 30 seconds instead of 5000.

Although it’s full auto it has a very low rate of fire. Most people use it as a semi auto weapon.
The Ray Gun’s bullets explode on impact. If you’re too close to whatever you shoot you can be downed.

Monkey Bombs are little monkey toys that make noise to attract zombies. After a few seconds they explode killing all zombies in it’s blast radius.

Semi-Automatic Wonder Weapon
6 Second Reload Time
The Wunderwaffe shoots a bolt of electricity. Any zombies in it’s path will connect the lightning bolts and instantly die.
Found in the Mystery Box of Shi No Numa and Der Riese.
After you use the Pack-A-Punch Machine on a weapon, it will upgrade to a special stronger (Wonder) weapon. You will need an upgraded weapon to survive the later rounds of zombies. I listed each gun in alphabetical order and added the new name after it gets upgraded. The specs I give will be for the upgraded gun, not the original gun stats.
